Denon AH-W150 Exercise Freak headphones
Cnet rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
The good: The AH-W150 Exercise Freak in-ear Bluetooth headphones support wireless audio streaming from Bluetooth-enabled devices. They're sweat-proof and relatively comfortable to wear, and offer decent sound for wireless headphones. They have a built-in microphone for cell phone calls, as well as transport and volume controls. The carrying case included is nice.
The bad: They're fairly pricey and they won't fit everyone equally well (which can affect sound quality).
The cost: $150
The bottom line: While in design they may resemble a pair of jumbo hearing aids, the Denon AH-W150 Exercise Freaks are among the better wireless sports headphones available.
Plantronics Voyager Legend
Cnet rating: 4 stars out of 5
The good: Lighter and less bulky than other boom-style headsets, the Voyager Legend has superb audio quality and a well-crafted, comfortable design.
The bad: The big boom mike arm isn't compact. Ear tips don't form a tight audio seal.
The cost: $60 to $119
The bottom line: The Plantronics Voyager Legend big boom microphone isn't for the fashion-conscious, but its superb call audio quality and comfortable fit make it an excellent buy.
Sony SRS-BTX500 Premium Bluetooth Wireless Speaker
Cnet rating: 4 stars out of 5
The good: The SRS-BTX500 is a sleekly designed Bluetooth wireless speaker that offers impressive sound for its size, and has a built-in rechargeable battery for on-the-go use, and speakerphone capabilities. A carrying case is included and there's a USB port for charging smartphones when the AC adapter is plugged in. The NFC pairing feature is a nice bonus for new phones that are so equipped.
The bad: The speaker is fairly expensive and the battery life is OK but not great.
The cost: $270 to $298
The bottom line: A worthy peer to speakers by Bose and Jawbone, the Sony SRS-BTX500 is one of the best premium portable Bluetooth speakers you can buy.
Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver
Cnet rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
The good: The affordable Bluetooth Music Receiver adds Bluetooth streaming capabilities to anything with an audio (auxiliary) input or a pair of powered speakers. It comes with both RCA-to- 3.5mm and 3.5mm-to-3.5mm cables.
The bad: It's "wireless" but needs to be plugged into the audio component (and a wall outlet).
The cost: $23 to $96
The bottom line: The Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver is a cheap and easy way to add wireless audio streaming to any powered speaker system or audio component with a spare input.
