Plantronics Combines Dual-Mic AudioIQ with WindSmart for Unrivaled Headset Experience
Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) today unveiled the new Voyager 835
Bluetooth® Headset featuring three advanced noise cancelling
technologies that together provide superior clarity and natural voice on
both sides of a conversation.
The new Voyager 835 offers Plantronics Dual-Mic AudioIQ®, a combination
of its proprietary DSP algorithm which intelligently optimizes audio
levels and fidelity on both sides of a conversation, with precisely
configured dual microphones to significantly reduce background noise.
The inclusion of dual-microphones allows the Voyager 835 to accurately
isolate voice signals: one microphone captures voice as the second
microphone identifies background noise and removes it.
Combined with Plantronics’ WindSmart® technology, which filters and
reduces wind distortion, the Voyager 835 delivers comprehensive
noise-cancelation benefits without over-processing audio, so voices
sound natural during conversations.
“The Voyager 835 is designed to defeat wind and other background noise
in a variety of real-world environments, such as a busy city street,
crowded restaurant or car with the air conditioning blowing,” said Renee
Niemi, general manager and vice president, Mobile & Entertainment for
Plantronics, Inc. “By focusing on everyday call scenarios, Plantronics
developed a headset that provides exactly what consumers want:
brilliant, true-to-life audio on both sides of a conversation that
doesn’t succumb to noisy environments and never sounds unnatural.”
Ultimate Comfort and Ease-of-Use
The new Voyager 835 weighs in at less than 12 grams and meets
Plantronics’ strict acoustic fit criteria with contoured, universal-fit
eartips that rest gently on the wearer and channel sound directly into
the ear canal for improved receive clarity. A slim yet highly durable
ear loop secures the headset without discomfort and does not interfere
with eyewear.
The Voyager 835 headset is designed with simple-to-use volume and call
answer / end controls. Another benefit of the Voyager 835 is the
inclusion of multipoint technology, which permits users to take calls
from any two Bluetooth phones – like a business and a personal phone –
from a single headset. Talk time is up to five hours, stand-by time up
to five days and multiple charging options are available, including an
in-car kit.
“Plantronics has a 46-year history of innovation across all facets of
sound performance – from noise-canceling microphones to DSP algorithms
and wind technologies. The Voyager 835 is a reflection of our commitment
to surpassing customer expectation with products the deliver superior
sound, quality and comfort,” added Niemi.
