Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) today paid tribute to the life of Trude
Taylor, a technology pioneer and member of Plantronics’ Board of
Directors for 39 years, who died unexpectedly on Friday, February 22.
“We are deeply saddened by Trude’s passing and extend our sincere
condolences to his family,” said Ken Kannappan, president and CEO of
Plantronics. “Trude was a consummate professional who contributed
heavily to Plantronics’ success over the past four decades. He was a
great role model, a very trusted advisor with excellent judgment, and a
friend to all that met him.”
Other members of the Plantronics Board of Directors remarked on Trude’s
legacy:
“Trude always carried himself with great dignity and grace, and I’m very
grateful that we became colleagues and friends,” said Marv Tseu,
director and chairman of the Board of Plantronics. “His technology
insights and financial acumen were instrumental in helping shape
Plantronics and preparing the company for broad growth. We’ll miss his
bigger-than-life presence and ageless spirit.”
“I remember meeting Trude when I first started work on the Plantronics
account in 1987 and being impressed with his knowledge and wisdom,” said
Marshall Mohr. “My respect for those traits only grew over time. His
contributions were immense and he will be missed.”
“Trude has been a true role model, providing great judgment and a unique
balance of directness and tactfulness,” remarked Roger Wery. “He was an
inspiration for all of us.”
Mr. Taylor has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1969,
helping guide the company from a small start-up to the worldwide leader
in communication headsets. Earlier in his career, Mr. Taylor was
chairman of the Board of Directors, president and CEO of Electronic
Memories and Magnetics Corporation, a manufacturer of computer
peripherals.
