Voyager PRO Design Lauded for Blending All Day Wearing Comfort and Superior Audio Quality
Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) today announced that the Plantronics
Voyager(R) PRO Bluetooth(R) headset won the prestigious international
Forum (iF) product design award 2010 in the Telecommunications category.
For 56 years, the iF product design award has served as an
internationally recognized trademark for outstanding design. Across the
globe, the iF brand, with offices in Hanover, Munich, Taipei, Seoul and
Curitiba/Paraná, is an established symbol for exceptional design
achievement.
There were nearly 2,500 entries from 39 different nations for this
year’s award.
“Plantronics designed Voyager PRO for today’s mobile professionals who
value performance and comfort above all else,” said Darrin Caddes, vice
president of Corporate Design at Plantronics. “We designed the Voyager
PRO to be perfectly balanced so that it is seemingly weightless yet very
stable when worn and also extremely discreet as most of the physical
volume of the product is concealed behind the ear. Combined with the
industry’s best audio technology and extended battery life, Voyager PRO
breaks new ground in what users should expect from a headset.”
The iF award is the latest accolade bestowed on the Plantronics Voyager
PRO headset since it was introduced last year. Voyager PRO won coveted
Editors’ Choice awards from CNET and PC Magazine, and was named a CES
Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree in the Wireless
Handsets Accessories category.
Engineered for Sound Quality(TM)
The Plantronics Voyager PRO provides the industry’s most advanced
noise-canceling and wind noise reduction technology. The headset
features a unique dual-microphone boom and AudioIQ2, next generation
digital signal processing (DSP) technology, to precisely capture the
user’s voice and simultaneously cancel background noise. It features
three layers of WindSmart(R) technology to minimize wind noise and
delivers rich, natural inbound audio so you can hear and be heard
clearly.
The Plantronics Voyager PRO endured an extraordinary 24 rounds of human
factors testing to perfect the design for all-day wearing comfort and
stability. The Voyager PRO ear tip is made of soft silicone for an
optimal fit and features a “sound channel” that helps distribute audio
evenly to the ear. Ideal for mobile professionals, the Plantronics
Voyager PRO is extremely comfortable and the battery provides up to six
hours of talk time before having to recharge.
