Plantronics to Match Dollars Donated to Second Harvest Food Banks During San Jose Sharks Playoff Games
Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT), the world leader in personal audio
communications for nearly 50 years, today announced its continued
support for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County and Second
Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties by creating the
“Hungry for the Title” giving program during the San Jose Sharks playoff
games. Plantronics will match every dollar donated by San Jose Sharks
fans, up to $20,000, which will be split equally between the two food
banks.
Donate and Receive a Plantronics Voyager(R) Pro Bluetooth(R) Headset
Representatives from Plantronics will join Second Harvest inside HP
Pavilion during home playoff games to accept donations and distribute
information. The first donation opportunity for “Hungry for the Title”
will be at the first game on Wednesday, April 14. Sharks fans can visit
the Plantronics and Second Harvest Booth outside of Section 117 on the
concourse in the HP Pavilion as the Sharks take on the Colorado
Avalanche.
The first 25 people who donate $150 or more at the booth inside the HP
Pavilion will receive the award-winning Plantronics Voyager Pro
Bluetooth headset, a great choice for California drivers to comply with
the state’s hands-free law. People can also donate $5 by texting SHFB to
20222.
“This past year has brought hardship on countless families and
businesses. But even during the roughest economic times, Plantronics
continued its donation efforts for local families,” said Lisa Allyn at
Second Harvest Santa Cruz. “Money raised from ‘Hungry for the Title’
will supply food for families in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara/San Mateo
counties. We are grateful to Plantronics for their support and look
forward to being a part of the San Jose Sharks playoffs.”
“Plantronics has donated over a million pounds of food to Second Harvest
Food Bank of Santa Cruz County over the past decade and we are thankful
for the ability to continuously support Bay Area families in need,” said
Clay Hausmann, vice president of Corporate Marketing at Plantronics. “By
combining our efforts during the San Jose Sharks playoff games, we are
able to call upon an incredible fan base for support. Sharks fans are
like no other and to connect them to the Second Harvest community during
the playoffs is a great opportunity.”
