Plantronics Vocalyst Service Lets Users Send Email, Listen to Text Messages and Reminders with Simple Voice Controls
Plantronics®(NYSE:PLT), today held a press event to announce a new
cloud-based voice service, Plantronics Vocalyst, aimed at enhancing
users Bluetooth experience by extending voice control capabilities.
Plantronics also extended its premium headset line with the Plantronics
Savor M1100 Bluetooth® headset. The Plantronics Savor combines the
world’s first three-mic audio performance with Plantronics Vocalyst™, to
deliver exceptional audio experiences for conversations, text-to-speech,
audio streaming, and much more.

Plantronics Vocalyst
Plantronics Vocalyst is a cloud-based voice service, which can be
integrated with the Plantronics Savor M1100. Vocalyst, significantly
enhances the Bluetooth user experience with convenient features and
capabilities. By pressing Savor’s dedicated voice button and speaking
commands, users may:
• Send and listen to emails and text-to-speech messages,
• Record and listen to reminders,
• Post messages to Twitter and listen to their streams,
• Update Evernote accounts to easily capture moments and ideas with
their voice,
• Post a message to your Facebook page,
• Listen to the latest news, finance, sports and weather reports.
The Plantronics Vocalyst service is free for a full year (a USD $24.99
value) for Plantronics Savor customers. Vocalyst’s simple voice-driven
services are powered by Dial2Do, a pioneer in delivering cloud-based
voice services. Compatible with any phone, users can activate Vocalyst
with a few simple steps, after setting your region to obtain a local
number at www.plantronics.com/myheadset.
Android™ and BlackBerry® smartphone users can also download the
Plantronics Vocalyst application at respective app stores. The apps
allow users to listen to text messages as well as providing custom
configurations for added convenience, such as an auto-responder for
incoming text messages (“I’m currently driving and will return your
message shortly.”).
Equipped with Vocalyst technology, the Plantronics Savor M1100 features
convenient voice commands allowing users to keep their eyes on the road,
not their phones. Users can answer or ignore incoming calls by simply
saying, “Answer” or “Ignore”. The Plantronics Savor also includes
whispered voice alerts for low battery and lost connection.
Precision Audio Performance
The Plantronics Savor features three microphones that work
collaboratively to ensure every word is heard clearly during
conversations. Two of the three microphones capture the user’s voice and
simultaneously cancel background noise. The third microphone
automatically activates when in extremely noisy situations, helping to
overcome the most challenging environments while maximizing battery life.
The three mics work with AudioIQ3, the next generation of Plantronics’
AudioIQ® digital signal processing (DSP) technology, to preserve the
natural voice. This means users do not sound robotic and improves speech
accuracy. Plantronics Savor also includes WindSmart® technology to
reduce wind noise when taking calls in the car or on a busy street, and
its premium speaker and automatic volume adjustments mean that users
don’t have to put a hand over their ear to hear inbound audio.

The Plantronics Savor M1100 has a compact and lightweight design,
featuring a stylish boom that ensures a subtle profile, while also
maximizing audio performance by allowing for optimal mic placement. It
includes soft gel ear tips in three different sizes and an optional ear
loop to provide multiple wearing options and a comfortable fit. The
Plantronics Savor provides up to four hours of talk time and seven days
