The industry’s first software solution to support audio device control for Skype on Mac
Plantronics
(NYSE: PLT), a leader in audio communications, today announced that it
supports call management for Skype® on a Mac®. This gives Skype users
the ability to easily control calls when using their wireless
Plantronics® headsets. Adjusting the call volume, muting or answering a
call while roaming freely improves the overall Skype communication
experience.
The software, coupled with Plantronics’ wireless audio devices renowned
for sound quality, comfort, and ease-of-use, enables users to continue
their conversations on Skype even when they step away from their Mac.
This industry-first functionality ensures a professional-grade
communications experience when using Skype on a Mac.
“Mac users make up an enormous and growing portion of the business
community, and their desire to communicate using VoIP is increasing
accordingly,” said Amy Huson, director of Marketing, Plantronics.
“Plantronics has extensive experience enabling PC based communications
for enterprises and integrating with leading unified communications
platforms. We couldn’t be more pleased to extend similar expertise in
call control to Mac users. Mac fans are now free to roam while using
Skype without having to step back to their computer to interface with a
screen just to end a call or turn up the volume; clearly a much more
intuitive and efficient way to both work and communicate.”
