New RIG 4VR, RIG 600, and RIG 400 series builds on Plantronics current line-up for gamers including RIG 800 series, the first wireless headset for console gaming with 24-hour battery life
August 17, 2016 – Today, Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), a pioneer in audio and wearable technology, is present at Gamescom in Cologne to demonstrate the RIG 4VR and its new series of RIG headsets for Xbox One and PS4. Plantronics latest addition to the RIG family of products is the RIG 800 series, the first wireless gaming headsets with up to 24-hour battery life. The RIG 800 series joins the RIG 4VR, which is the industry’s first headset developed specifically for PlayStation®VR. Both products join a host of RIG audio solutions, including the RIG 500 Series, available for console and PC designed to scale to gamers’ needs and preferences.

The 24-hour battery life of the RIG 800HS (for PlayStation 4) and RIG 800HX (for Xbox One) allows players to focus on gaming without worrying whether or not their headset will cut out. The enhanced battery also includes a quick-charging feature that provides 1.5 hours of gaming per 30-minute charge.
The RIG 800 series is one of the lightest wireless headsets on the market, engineered for fit and long-term comfort. Memory-foam ear cushions make wearing the headset more comfortable and increase sound isolation for an immersive experience. The RIG 800 shares the same configurable design as the RIG 500, which was uniquely constructed with an industry-first modular design.

- Performance Audio: Amplified 40 mm drivers bring the soundstage to life. Low frequency resonators reinforce bass and limit distortion. Mic monitor lets you hear your outgoing chat level and quality while the noise-cancelling mic ensures your teammates hear you. When you’re done with chat, just flip up the mic to mute it.
- Precise Controls: Dual control dials on the left earcup help you quickly adjust the balance between game and chat audio, as well as master volume. Choose an EQ setting to isolate pure highs, intensify the mid-range, enjoy seismic bass, or enhance vocal focus.
Plantronics RIG 4VR
As the creators of leading consumer and tournament headsets, Plantronics knows the value immersive audio brings to gaming, and nowhere is this truer than in virtual reality. RIG 4VR is a complete audio solution developed for PlayStation®4, with interchangeable cables for use with PlayStation®VR and DualShock®4 wireless controllers, and will be available worldwide alongside the launch of the PlayStation®VR in October 2016.
- RIG 4VR features 40mm drivers paired with low-frequency resonators for enhanced bass while maintaining accuracy of sounds. The removable flip-to-mute boom with noise-cancelling mic can be attached when using the headset with a controller, offering immersive stereo audio and exceptionally clear chat.
- The 3.5mm audio connector included with the RIG 4VR for the PlayStation®VR also works with other console controllers (including Xbox One), PC/Mac and portable and mobile gaming devices for maximum versatility.
Plantronics RIG 600 and RIG 400
The RIG 800 is joined by the RIG 600 and RIG 400 this fall in Plantronics line-up of headsets designed specifically for gamers.
- The RIG 600 is compatible with all gaming platforms and features high fidelity audio, balancing distortion-free bass with vibrant mids and treble, allowing users to hear more detail in their games and music.
- The RIG 400 series includes the RIG 400HX designed for Xbox One and the RIG 400HS for PlayStation 4. Both models feature inline volume and mute controls, high-sensitivity drivers, and removable noise-cancelling mics.
